My Changing Planet Teams with The Nature Conservancy, Tackling Environmental Issues with Humor, Great Music and Hope

My Changing Planet to be offered to The Nature Conservancy’s
more than 1 million members

San Francisco, CA – October 26, 2009 – My Changing Planet LLC,
(www.mychangingplanet.com), an environmental entertainment initiative, today announced it has teamed with The Nature Conservancy to raise awareness among kids of our changing planet through a unique collection of songs and stories. Developed by My Changing Planet, 100% of the company’s net profits from sales of the music will be given to The Nature Conservancy to further its extraordinary conservation work around the world.

“Our support of The Nature Conservancy is the result of our shared passion for educating kids about the environment and empowering them to make changes in their homes, neighborhoods and schools,” commented Jessica Hoffman, co-founder of My Changing Planet, LLC. “As kids we were inspired by the 1970’s album Free to Be You and Me, which shaped our understanding of changing gender roles and family life. With the fun songs and stories in My Changing Planet we hope to help kids understand the opportunities and challenges of living on a rapidly changing planet and what they can do to help.”

Hoffman added, “Supporting The Nature Conservancy puts us one step closer to our belief that the green movement will be the cultural zeitgeist that defines the next generation.”

In the exploding kids entertainment market, there is no shortage of media to help kids learn and grow. What’s missing is entertainment that addresses the major environmental issues facing the world. Through a collection of songs and stories and an interactive Web site developed for kids ages six to eleven, My Changing Planet makes it fun for kids to learn about important environmental issues from climate change to conservation to species extinction.

“My Changing Planet has created children’s content that delivers meaningful messages about conservation and environmental awareness that are hopeful and encouraging. The upbeat songs are what initially drew us to the project,” said Sheri Turnbow, Associate Director of Cause Marketing at The Nature Conservancy. “Even more exciting is that these songs and stories will be available to kids through the mediums they regularly engage with like their computers and iPods. We have confidence that My Changing Planet can help inspire the next generation to take action and steward our planet to a bright and beautiful future.”

The Nature Conservancy will offer My Changing Planet at a discount to its more than 1 million members through its member benefits program.

More than 20 singers and actors recorded the vocals for the songs and spoken word pieces on the My Changing Planet album. For more information go to www.mychangingplanet.com.
