My Changing Planet
Jody, age 9
Take a journey through the dinosaur age as we remember how our planet is always changing. We may come from different places with different beliefs, but we can all help the planet change for the better and help protect the plants and animals we share it with.

Lyrics

Long, long ago before you lived here
Giant beasts and birds were strolling around
Fat and hairy, short and scary, they ruled the earth–
and then they disappeared

Where on earth they went to baby is anyone’s guess
The planet got a freeze on say the scientists
The temperature changed, life got rearranged
And all that’s left are their stinky bones and teeth.
Cause we’re all…

chorus:
We’re all living on a changing planet
Baby there’s just no telling what will happen next
We’re all living on a changing planet
And what we do now will last forever and ever
and ever and ever again

The giant wooly mammoth had two long tusks
Veggies for breakfast, veggies for lunch, he made no fuss
Fourteen feet tall, snout, wool and all –
and then he disappeared

Where on earth he went to baby is anyone’s guess
The planet started to warm up, say the scientists
The ice started to melt, the deck had been dealt,
And now all we have are the pictures in the storybooks,
Cause we’re all…

(chorus)

The homo sapiens are as smart as a whip
Make buildings and cars, understand the stars,
and medicine for the sick
With our useful thumbs, so many things we have done,
but we’ve got to keep it real, cause we’re all…

(chorus)

We may not agree
On everything
We share the future you see
Enjoy the planet with me

We may have different views
But you just can’t refuse
We’ve got a beautiful thing
Enjoy the planet with me
